Process Engineer

Process Engineers (also called process systems engineering) focuses on the design, layout, operation, control, and optimisation of chemical, physical, and biological processes through the aid of systematic computer-based methods.

Personal requirements of a Process Engineer may include:

Process Engineers may complete the following tasks:

  • Manage projects and teams
  • Produce flow sheets, equipment lists and design processes
  • Compile reports on engineering studies and test work
  • Provide process related information to engineering consultants and vendors as requested
  • Work as a team member with other engineering discipline experts to complete priority projects
  • Liaise with external engineering consultants and vendors on the process design of new projects
  • Assist in the planning and coordinating of test work in support of process improvements and optimisation
  • Provide project management for small scale modification or optimisation projects
  • Take part in engineering bid evaluations, feasibility studies, risk assessments and studies

This job requires a degree or similar qualifications in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering plus on-the-job experience.
