Design Engineer

Design Engineers design power generators to specifications using computer software.

Personal requirements of a Design Engineer may include:

  • PC literacy - MS Office suite and relevant design software
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good customer relationship skills

Design Engineers may complete the following tasks:

  • Provide detailed designs of primary and secondary power generation systems that comply to Australian regulatory standards
  • Site visits to undertake detailed surveys for design activities
  • Specification and design of electrical & instrumentation aspects of diesel / gas power generation systems typically utilised by the oil and gas sectors
  • Control panel schematics, layouts, package wiring diagrams/cable schedules, and other related documentation
  • Ensuring systems are designed in accordance
  • Coordination with internal colleagues and other engineers / suppliers / client representatives to ensure drawings/documents are ready for submittal on the required dates
  • Ensuring working practices, procedures meet Australian standards and regulations

This job usually requires the completion of a tertiary degree. Design experience with fixed or mobile power generation systems and experience within Electrical Design Background is preferred.
