Operations Technical Officer

Operations Technical Officer develop operational procedures and systems, manage the start up and shut down of boilers and turbines, hydro plant, gas turbines. Implement safe working practices and environmental procedures. Manage and supervise others and coordinate work activities of individuals and teams.

Personal requirements of a power generation maintenance support officer may include:

  • Tune Process Plant and Equipment
  • Manage Quality Control Procedures
  • Conduct Project Management
  • Develop Implement and Monitor Environmental Management Systems
  • Co-ordinate Electrical Energy Production
  • Schedule Generation
  • Establish and Implement Operational Strategies for Power Production
  • Manage Quality Control Procedures
  • Coordinate Power Generation

This job usually requires the completion of a Diploma in ESI (Electrical Supply Industry Generation). Entry requirements may vary but most employers require Year 10 and some may prefer Year 12.
