Energy Management Engineers may complete the following tasks:

  • Review and verify technical merits of business customer energy efficiency applications, including calculation of energy savings and verification of equipment specifications
  • Customer site inspections to verify the installation of energy efficient equipment at small businesses throughout the territory
  • Interact with customers to address questions or concerns about installed equipment or programmatic information
  • Database (Access) queries and program data analysis
  • Educate contractors about the program
  • Provide flexible support to other team members on an as-needed basis
  • Presenting and defending the methodology and results of energy program evaluations through written reports
  • Designing energy analyses using advanced spreadsheets and building simulation software
  • Analysing energy performance and reporting the impacts associated with efficiency improvements
  • Reviewing and making recommendations on savings calculations performed by other organisations
  • Imparting knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and evaluation methods
  • Verifying installation, operations, and performance characteristics of energy-efficient equipment
  • Installing measurement equipment and analysing measured data, including lighting loggers, power recorders, and other data acquisitions systems
  • Supervising, training and mentoring a team of energy engineers and analysts and reviewing site level plans
  • Training personnel to perform on-site inspections and efficiency assessments
  • Managing projects and/or tasks involving engineering or field data collection elements
  • Leading teams to collectively complete tasks on time and on budget
  • Writing project proposals and plans

This position requires tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline as well as strong technical capabilities relating to renewable energy projects.
