Renewable Energy Operative

Renewable Energy Operatives select, assemble, set up and maintain simple equipment and renewable energy systems.

Personal requirements of a Renewable Energy Operative may include:

Renewable Energy Operatives may complete the following tasks:

  • Dismantle, assemble and fabricate electrotechnology components
  • Solve problems in extra-low voltage single path circuits
  • Solve problems in multiple path d.c. circuits
  • Fix and secure equipment
  • Use drawings, diagrams, schedules and manuals
  • Lay wiring/cabling and terminate accessories for extra-low voltage circuits
  • Carry out basic repairs to renewable energy apparatus by replacement of components
  • Assemble and set up photovoltaic apparatus in a domestic dwelling
  • Source and purchase material/parts for installation or service jobs
  • Receive and store materials and equipment for electrotechnology work
  • Deliver a service to customers
  • Use basic computer applications relevant to a workplace
  • Provide basic instruction in the use of electrotechnology apparatus
  • Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
  • Provide solutions to and report on routine electrotechnology problems

This occupation requires a minimum Certificate II level qualification in Renewable Energy  in order to fulfil the role. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
