Technical Officer - Electrical and Instrumentation

Technical Officers- Electrical and Instrumentation develop, select, install, commission, maintain and diagnose faults/malfunctions on electrical, instrumentation and control equipment and systems. The qualification includes ERAC requirements for an 'Electrician's licence'.

Technical Officers - Electrical and Instrumentation may complete the following tasks:

  • Implement and monitor OHS policies and procedures
  • Compile and produce an electrotechnology report
  • Participate in development and follow a personal competency development plan
  • Write specifications for industrial electronics and control projects
  • Manage workplace information systems
  • Facilitate continuous improvement
  • Facilitate and capitalise on change and innovation
  • Verify compliance and functionality of process control installations

This job requires an electrical qualification (e.g. Diploma in Electrical and Instrumentation) through an electrical traineeship or apprenticeship.
