Electrotechnology Career Start Trainees are entry level workers in any area of the electrotechnology industry grounding in safety and basic skills and knowledge.

Electrotechnology Career Start Trainees may complete the following tasks:

  • Apply OHS practices in the workplace
  • Solve problems in extra-low voltage single path circuits
  • Solve problems in multiple path d.c. circuits
  • Identify and select components, accessories and materials for electrotechnology work activities
  • Use of routine equipment/plant/technologies in an electrotechnology environment
  • Carry out routine work activities in an electrotechnology environment
  • Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
  • Assemble electronic apparatus
  • Carry out basic repairs to electronic apparatus by replacement of components
  • Deliver service to customers

This job requires a traineeship or apprenticeship in Electrotechnology studying Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start).
