Network Systems Technicians

Network Systems Technicians Provide technical support for network users including workstation hardware and software, peripherals, network connections and wiring.

Personal requirements of a Network Systems Technician may include:

Network Systems Technicians may complete the following tasks:

  • Provides support to the Network Administrator for maintaining a secure, available, and robust LAN and WAN
  • Manages user accounts and resets passwords in accordance with security protocols
  • Diagnoses and repairs problems, performs preventative maintenance
  • Participates in the execution of the IT Departmental and Company Vision, Values, and Goals
  • Assembles, repairs and maintains PCs, printers, faxes, copiers, phones, voice mail and other IT hardware
  • Establishes new network users and user environments in accordance with IT requirements
  • Sets up and maintains network operations, including assembly of network hardware
  • Performs all technology support functions including support of Non-SAP systems (Craigware, Sharepoint, Access, etc.)
  • Provides assistance to the Network Administrator as directed by the Network Administrator
  • Proactively identifies areas in need of process improvements.¬† Proactively identifies areas for efficiency improvements
  • Outlines recommendations and¬†implements approved recommendations

This job usually has a level of skill commensurate with a Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science and relevant experience is most unlikely to substitute for these formal qualifications. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may also be required in addition to the formal qualification.
